What is First?
FIRST (For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a non-profit organization that strives to inspire students to be leaders and innovators in STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) related fields. By creating a mentor based learning environment, students develop skills that will be carried with them throughout their lives. FIRST not only provides many valuable experiences and lessons to students, but also provided $80 million college of scholarships last year. (See “FIRST” page for more info)
Who are we?
Team 2225 better know as RUST is the robotics representing Champlin Park High School. RUST stands for Robots Uniting Students Together and was created in 2007 as a means to further students development in STEM related fields. Our mentors, who have worked with us since day one, are from a wide range of backgrounds with years of experience from various companies including Boeing, Caterpillar, and Boston Scientific. Since our founding, we have participated in many competitions with our most successful coming in 2018, where we won the North Star Regional event in Minneapolis, and went on to compete in the Detroit Worlds event.
